Lot 7785 — CDW Co. x OLD BONES Overalls
1946 Post-War Straight Cut
A collaboration between Cheese Denim Works and Old Bones Overalls. Lot 7785 sits at the hinge between wartime restriction and post-war recovery — carrying the weight and unrefined build of WWII-era denim while stepping past the restrictions that shaped it.
The irregularities aren't flaws — they're what a worker's hand actually produced back then. Every tension variance and stitch mismatch here traces to the skill level of factory labor at the time, drawn directly from our original sample pair.
Details
• 15oz Sanforized Selvedge Denim — rough hand-feel, heavy texture, true to 1940s workwear.
• 1946 Post-War Straight Cut — mid-to-high rise, relaxed straight leg.
• Transitional Construction
– Waist pocket opening and crotch seam folded and stitched through directly, per period mass-production method.
– Fly sides overlocked to the front body; fly hem left raw and unfinished.
– Stitch mismatches and irregular thread paths mirror the hand of the worker who made the sample — nothing designed, just replicated as-is.
• Hardware — donut buttons, flat copper rivets, hidden rear pocket reinforcement rivets.
• Collaboration Finishes
– CDW Co. x OLD BONES stamped leather waist patch.
– Hand-stamped pocket bags, individually numbered (e.g. NO 20/22).
– Dual rear tabs: Old Bones black, left; CDW yellow, right.
– Clean red selvedge line.
• Made in Kota Bharu, Malaysia — hand-assembled.
Care
Sanforized 15oz denim won't shrink much, but a pre-soak before first wear is still worth doing. It softens the yarn, sets the thread work, and opens up the fade potential in the raw indigo.
