Sugar Cane Super “Denim” Collectibles #05 – 1942 Model Waist Overalls (14.25oz)
This rare reproduction from Sugar Cane revives the early 1942 wartime model, produced for just a few months in 1942. At first glance, it resembles the 1937 version, but key details set it apart: steel concealed rivets, copper-plated button tacks, crotch rivet, cinch back, and a black-plated iron buckle unique to this model. Even the flasher was updated from “CONCEALED COPPER RIVETS” to “CONCEALED POCKET RIVETS” to match the original.
Crafted from a specially developed 14.25oz selvedge denim with a different texture and weight than previous models, this pair captures the character of unwashed deadstock denim, right down to the stitching pitch and hardware finish.
Part of Sugar Cane’s premium Super “Denim” Collectibles line led by Yuichi Fukutomi, with input from vintage collector Shigeki Wakiya, the project focuses on faithfully recreating ultra-rare archival pieces using historically accurate materials and techniques.
